3 hour hospial visit costs 18k to look at a baby and send the couple on their way?

These unregulated arbitrary hidden fees seem another way for hospitals to equalize the costs of treating the uninsured. I think with medical bills/health insurance rates skyrocketting, we have to remember hospitals are more worried about profit margins then treating people at the end of the day.

This is why I worry about medical treatements bankrupting the elderly as they have more serious needs and then come up with 10-100k bills.
