Wish this was uncommon story for an IT company. \ \ Small company with flat merit based org. structure out grows their start up culture by rapid hiring.  VC’s not happy with profit margin look to instil a boiler plate MBA led hierarchical structure that will see a mass exodis of staff to the next cycle of IT startups.\ \ So will this mean everyone moves to GitLab?\ \ #gitlab{.ot-hashtag .bidi_isolate}

GitHub is undergoing a full-blown overhaul as execs and employees depart — and we have the full inside story

To some degree the imposition of a hierarchy is a necessary part of scaling, but the choice of whom to promote is going to hurt those who wanted the roles.\ \ As dangerous as it is to say, I think their diversity approach is also misguided, as it is leading to the perception of bias. Some things the diversity team says are blatantly racist (by which I mean stereotyping people by race), which destroys any moral authority they have to get rid of racism, and pursue actual diversity of thought.
